As of Aug. 1, 2023, UNHS is announcing updates to six courses across four subject areas as well as introducing a brand new course titled Introduction to Sports Medicine.
In Introduction to Sports Medicine, students will explore different elements of sports medicine such as common injuries to both the upper and lower extremities, basic first aid for these injuries, and safety in sports. Students will also explore different careers in the field of sports medicine such as the education and training required. Prerequisites for this course include one semester of Anatomy and Physiology. This course is offered online only.
Course updates include new course versions with new materials. Three updated courses are now being offered via digital course packs (print format also available). Three updated courses also include a change to Teacher Connect activities; specifically, these activities will now be graded components that count in a student’s overall course grade.

Short Stories. New version of course with a new textbook from a different publisher. Teacher Connects are also each worth 1% of a student’s overall course grade.
Medical Terminology. New version of course with course materials now being offered via digital course pack (course and course pack offered online only).
Precalculus: Analytic Geometry and Algebra. New version of course with a new optional text. A PDF version of the textbook will be included in the Theorem Learning Management System, but students can also purchase a printed version if desired. Teacher Connects are also each worth 1% of a student’s overall course grade.
