Sign up: First Year Algebra Placement Test | Second Year Algebra Placement Test | Geometry Placement Test

Again this spring, in parallel with April’s recognition of Mathematics and Statistics Awareness Month, the University of Nebraska High School renews its commitment to helping students embrace math with confidence. Throughout April, UNHS is offering free math placement tests to give learners a clearer picture of where their current skills align and how to establish a stronger base in math from there.
Free assessments in algebra and geometry allow students to discover the best starting point for their coursework — a crucial first step toward success in higher-level math or any subject that builds on a solid mathematical foundation.
Why Placement Matters
Knowing which math level fits a student’s current understanding can save time, prevent frustration, and help them stay on track for graduation or academic acceleration. Placement insights make planning for summer courses, credit recovery, or advanced math work easier and more intentional.
For families and students who aren’t yet enrolled, this opportunity serves as a low-pressure way to explore what UNHS has to offer and begin mapping out a personalized education path. And even for students who have already completed algebra or geometry elsewhere, the tests can offer a helpful benchmark before choosing future courses.
Beyond math, UNHS also provides affordable placement tests in world languages like French, Latin, and Spanish — making sure students start language study at the level that fits them best.
How To Get Started
Students interested in taking a free placement test this April can sign up through the UNHS Store. Instructions and links to easily register are available online. The best way to keep moving forward in math is to start exactly where you need to be, so sign up before this offer expires! Additionally, the spring timing of our free math placement tests offering aligns nicely with taking courses during the summer, specifically math-related courses, to catch up (e.g., credit recovery), stay on track, or get ahead!
