As of Feb. 1, 2023, UNHS is announcing updates to five courses as well as introducing a brand new course titled Introduction to Marketing. Materials for this new course are available via Skyepack.
For the first time, UNHS is partnering with Skyepack, a company whose goal is to reduce textbook costs by curating Open Education Resources (OER) into digital course packs. UNHS sees this pilot with Skyepack as an exciting opportunity to address concerns such as the rising cost of textbooks and shipping challenges.
Additionally, a new version of the Personal Finance course is available and is also being offered with digital course materials. When students register for Introduction to Marketing or Personal Finance in the UNHS Store, they will be purchasing the course bundle. This bundle will include tuition, fees, and the digital course pack in one single price.
UNHS students who register for either Introduction to Marketing or Personal Finance on or after Feb. 1, 2023, will be given access to the digital course pack within their course in the UNHS Learning Management System, Theorem. Students who need or want these course packs in a print format will be able to purchase them through Follett.
New versions of four other UNHS courses are also available as of Feb. 1, 2023. Highlights of these courses are detailed below.
Third Year French. New version of course. Teacher Connects and projects will now require students to create audio recordings. Teacher Connects are also each worth 1% of a student’s overall course grade. Course available in print or online.
Beginning Piano 1. New version of course. Metronome required. Staff paper (i.e., sheet music paper) is optional. Course available online only.
Beginning Piano 2. New version of course. Metronome required. Staff paper (i.e., sheet music paper) is optional. Course available online only.
Introduction to Technology. New version of course with a new textbook from a different publisher. Course available in print or online.
